I'm going to dedicate this Quick Takes to the Strike!
1. I've walked more in the last two weeks than I probably have had in the last 6 months!
2. I've gotten to know more of my staff members at my school by walking around in lines than I have actually working in the building the last 4 years.
3. Going back to school on Friday, was amazing. An odd day to start but the kids were so happy to be back! :)
4. While walking I realized that I need to stop avoiding my pains in my leg, and get into the doc to get things under way for either a hip replacement or treatment.
5. In communicating with my fellow staff members, I realized that I work with the BEST staff in the world...I wouldn't trade them for anything.
6. Before we went on strike, I was starting to question if I should be a teacher permanently in my life...and now after, I have a renewed fire for teaching my students. I also know that I'm meant to be a teacher...I really truly missed my kids while we were gone.
7. Tacoma Teachers set a new standard for teachers across the US by standing up for what we believe, and I'm so very proud to be apart of that! :)
