First Year of Teaching

My first year of teaching is quickly coming to and end, I have about 11.5 hours of work left for the year. (A day and a half.) I'm actually kind of sad, I feel like I have so much more to do with these students. Although, I have to have summer, so I can prepare myself for next year! I've now got 3 levels of ASL I need to get "approval" for so my students can get college credit! (It's a lot of work!) My VP is a hard woman to impress and Thursday morning I got a flurry of praise from her and our Principal saying that I've grown the program so much, they've added a 3rd year (they've never had it before) and that the last 3 years they've had to consider closing the program, but it wasn't even a consideration for next year! :) I'm so happy about that!
A lot of good things going on at work, I only have 9 students failing out of all my students. Those students don't EVER show to class...so it's not a bad thing.
I bought plane tickets to NY yesterday morning! I'm going back to visit camp that I used to be a camper at, and a counselor. It's a camp for all kids who have deaf parents! It's amazing, I wish I could stay to be a counselor but I can't. :( I've got too much going on at home this summer. I'm also taking classes!
Next summer I'll hopefully be able to go and work, as long as it doesn't conflict with our trip to Europe!
Enjoy your summer's everyone!
